The Charlie Quilt!

Its pattern release day!  So exciting!  Say Hello to the Charlie Quilt! This one has been in the works for a while and it has been so hard to not share it with you until now!   I loved sewing up this quilt as it was right in my fun quilting wheelhouse: layer cake squares, simple cutting, and big blocks.  I made the first version using a layer cake of Tula Pink's Zuma with an eye-searingly bright Kona Chartreuse background. Big Changes!

I've spent a lot of time thinking hard about Tiny Orchard Quilts and what it is I really love to do.  After a lot of thinking, I've come to the decision to end fabric sales. I love fabric--really!  However, it takes a lot of time to order, sort, manage inventory, deal with taxes, paperwork, and create all the listings for each fabric.  That time that is taken away from other goals--like writing patterns, making youtube video tutorials, and working on my own quilts.  My remaining inventory will be up in my Etsy Shop. Now--the more exciting side of the coin! ...

The Scrappening!

I finally decided to take the plunge and do something I’ve considered for a very long time: cutting up the scraps.  I talked myself out of it many times: why cut up a piece of fabric before you know what you want to do with it?  What if I need a size other than these standard sizes I’ve chosen?  Won’t it take FOREVER?   I decided these were all valid points, so I never cut the my scraps, I just jammed them in the baskets. Reading Challenge Quilt

I love browsing through the year long quilt projects like the temperature quilt on Instagram. I’ve thought about making one for years now but never managed to get motivated enough to start. The quilts are gorgeous but...temperature?  I just couldn’t get into it.    Then I started thinking about other resolutions and ways to mark my year.
