I vividly remember making this quilt about a year ago and hoping the colors and blending would come together as they did in my head. Despite the risk of some serious clown-barf looking colors, the quilt exceeding all my expectations.

I sewed most of this quilt during the beginning of the lockdown when I really didn't know how to juggle sewing, having the kids home, and the looming unknown. It was a good solace for me for a while as the repetition of the piecing let me zone out a little.

I didn't know how to quilt it for the longest time. I thought about dot to dot in the triangles, doing a freehand allover, doing some type of blending pattern that would mimic the blending of the colors. In the end, I used an allover design that I had admired from pictures on instagram. Its a lovely pattern with lots of curves to break up the angles in the piecing.

I love this quilt! I'm sorry it waited so long to finally be finished but it was worth it in the end!
